Champion Sports Group - KI Tie Up Announced

POOLE TOWN FC are delighted to announce a link up with CSG which will see a huge benefit to the club as a whole developing players from mini kicker starters through to adult football with the provision of a PTFC development squad. In particular it will augment and expand the work undertaken by the Kids Initiative (KI) program which seeks to help under privileged kids in our area.

CSG ties to Poole Town are already strong as its founders, Dan Neville and Luke Burbidge, are former Dolphins players. Champion started in 2012 with 10 players and now work with over 1,300 children a week across the area. This ranges from social action projects, coaching in primary schools, evening futsal sessions, an advanced coaching program as well as a full-time education pathway. Also, via their custom built PlayerPathway app, they help develop players in 12 countries across the world, from the USA to Australia. To date CSG have assisted 3 players in making full international debuts, 7 international age group debuts and 104 players into professional clubs.

Club vice chairman and KI administrator, Richard Gale, said ‘ This link up with CSG is a huge step forward for the club as the breadth and range of coaching they provide will help our youngsters across the board whatever their age or ability. However what excites me more than anything else is how we can now improve and expand the variety of projects we currently offer to local children through the KI, particularly those facing emotional, financial or physical hardship. Dan and I are in constant contact at the moment as CSG have a number of soccer camps coming up over the summer holidays which will have spaces available for us to fill. We are also finalising arrangements for a number a free to play coaching sessions that will be held in several locations across the Poole area during the school holidays’.

Richard continued ‘off the field CSG will also be able to help with our off-field programs as well, bearing in mind that they provide coaching to some 20 local schools. Projects such as the Boot Room, where we provide new and quality preloved sports shoes to children who do not have any, will benefit as CSG are actively involved with the schools and can help the inevitably stretched staff within them take advantage of the numerous benefits we are able to offer’.
