Back in February we posted the story of Sara Leggott who would be running 6 Marathons with the aim of raising £5000 for the Impact Melanoma charity.
Please see the letter below as an update from Jackie Leggott, in her own words "A very proud mum"
Hi Richard
I am delighted to inform you that my amazing daughter, Sara, completed her 5th World Marathon in Boston on Monday 15th April and returned home yesterday.
She completed it in 4.22.14 in wind and rain and also at 20 miles in having to run up Heartbreak Hill!!! I was able to watch the race via my IPad and also tracked her on my phone so it was very exciting.
She was required to raise 5000 for IMPACT Melanoma but the total amount was 6126.74 unbelievable the generosity and support from everyone including yourselves. So on behalf of myself and Sara a very big THANK YOU.
I took my grandson Jack, who I was looking after, to see Poole Town against Basingstoke. His first football match and he was thrilled especially Poole wining!!
Once again thank you so very much and I hope the photos attached will speak volumes.
Tokyo the final one next March where she will get the the coveted Six World Majors Marathon medal. Her Dad would have been so proud of her and it goes to show even at the most difficult time in your life anything is possible.
With kindest regards to you all.
Jackie Leggott
A very proud Mum
